The red line isn't always red. And it isn't always a line. Any color or re-occurring theme will do. Several people standing at an ATM line all wearing clothing in the purple family. A women sitting on the blue seat of a subway in a blue coat, carrying a blue suitcase, with a Jetblue advertisement behind her. When we wake up and take notice, we realize that seeing is not the same as looking and the "red line" really is everywhere.

It's always got our back...

Starbucks, West 50th Street

Every now and again, it loses it's partner......

Seventh Ave. & Flatbush

Sometimes it stirs things up....

Cousin John's Bakery, 7th Ave., Park Slope

This time, it appeared to be choking her......

Sometimes we push it around.....

Sometimes it falls from a tree and lands on the ground right in front of us....

This time, it's more orange than red....

7th Ave. & Union Street, Brooklyn

Sometimes it can spray water....

Sometimes it peeks at us from behind closed doors.....

West 55th Street, NYC

Sometimes it's sitting right next to you....

Subway ride home, 9:17PM

Sometimes it's strapped to us....

Park Slope, Brooklyn

Sometimes it's right there behind us....

Union Square

Sometimes it's a tiny spot that we catch out of the corner of our eye....

NYC Subway Station

Sometimes it can get us drunk....

On Nick's boat at the 79th Street Boat Basin

Occasionally it's a smashed up tin can.....

7th Ave, 'Q' Train, Park Slope

It always gives us Hope....

West 8th Street Station, 'R' Train

It often sneaks up behind us...

49th Station, 'N' Train

Sometimes it's full of hot air....

West 50th Street, New York

Sometimes it's the final touch on a fabulous leopard-skin ensemble....

Theater District, New York City

Sometimes it holds our spokes together....

Park Slope, Brooklyn

Frequently it puts out fires.....
